A view from 1953 of the beautiful grounds of Ballymena Castle, ancestral home of the famous Adair family.
The Adairs really were the founding fathers of Ballymena and the name has always been closely associated with the town.

The Castle is now long gone and much of the area shown in the picture is now covered with modern buildings, the best known of which is the Seven Towers Leisure Centre.
