MEMBERS of Green Pastures, 'the people's Church', who have just celebrated their second anniversary, have outlined their 'Statement of Faith', continued from their last article.
The church family, based in Galgorm believe that in Biblical essentials there must be unity; in non-essentials, liberty and in all things, charity.

The Bible is self-interpreting and covers every subject of human knowledge and need for every day, and forever. It is a book that reveals the mind of God and the state of man. It is the way of salvation, the doom of sinners and the happiness of believers. It’s doctrines are holy, its histories are true and it’s decisions are truth. Christ is it’s grand subject, our good is it’s design and the glory of God it’s end. It should fill our memory, rule our heart and guide our feet in righteousness and true holiness. Read it to be wise, believe it to be safe and practice it to be Holy.

We have no righteousness and must come to God pleading the righteousness of Christ. Upon repentance and acceptance of salvation, we are justified before God and a change takes place in our hearts and lives. We are born again by the Spirit of God into the family of God. It is God’s will that we are then sanctified daily and grow constantly in our faith.

We believe in the full cannon of scripture. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, that the man of God may be perfect thoroughly furnished unto all good work.(2Tim3:16&17) The Acts of the Apostles is the only book in the bible without the ending of ‘amen’, therefore it remains for us to live out and do the works of Jesus by the power of His Holy Spirit living in us until Christ returns. Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today and forever. (Heb 13:8, Mark: 16:15-20).

Hell is the place of eternal torment for all who reject Christ as their Saviour and for the devil that deceived them. (Rev 20:10-15). Heaven is the glorious eternal home of the born again believers. We believe that soul winning is to be the primary responsibility of the Church – both at home and abroad. We are to be fishers of men.

This is a short section taken from our statement of faith. The full extended version is available in hard copy from Green Pastures Reception. We meet every Sunday morning at UNITE 11.15am, The Source 6.45pm and every Wednesday for prayer and worship at 8pm. A warm welcome is extended to all.
