Breaking down Genealogical ‘brick walls’

THE February meeting of the Ballymena branch of the North of Ireland Family History Society will be a workshop on overcoming genealogy ‘brick walls’.

If you have already had some success in tracing your ancestors bring along an example and share your tracing skills.

You may be just starting and are unsure how to find out about such things as baptismal records.

Or, if you have been clearing out the attic, for example, and you stumble upon an old photograph, letter of other artefact which at first glance appears to have little significance, don’t discard it, as it may be a missing peace of your family’s jigsaw.

The Ballymena branch of the Society may be able to give you more information about such items which would be helpful in furthering your research.

So why not go along on Thursday, February 28, to The Braid Arts Centre at 7.15pm and get help starting your research or hear some success stories of research already underway.

Entrance is £1 for members and £3 for non members.

More information can be obtained in the meantime from Brian O’Hara, branch chairman, on 25656854.
