Cullybackey WI meeting

CULLYBACKEY WI’s first meeting of 2013 was held in the Cuningham Hall on January 3.

President Betty Kyle welcomed members and wished everyone a very peaceful New Year. Betty gave a special welcome to speakers for the evening, Sam and Frances Simpson.

They gave a very interesting and informative talk about the work the RNLI and their involvement in it as fund raising volunteers. Margaret McKane gave a vote of thanks on behalf of the president and members.

The competition for ‘Prettiest Sea Shell’ was won by Alison Hill, 2nd: Ruth Orr, 3rd: Joan Mercer and 4th Myrna Douglas. Birthday girl for January was Margaret Erwin. After supper the evening finished with ‘A Country woman’s Song.
