BALLYMENA Floral Art Group’s hosted their first meeting of the new year last week with a demonstration on the theme of “Members’ Melody”.

Chairman Isobel Petticrew welcomed members and guests to the meeting at Michelin Athletic Club where club members Myrtle Calderwood, Muriel Harkness and Senga McFall illustrated the art of technically and professionally creating three very different styles of flower arranging but all with the same title “Members’ Melody”.

The monthly competition for club members was an exhibit entitled “Winter Treasures”.

This competition is also awarded the annual Coral Trophy under Judge’s Choice.

This year Ross McGookin and Karen Frew, both members of Ballymena Floral Art Group and NIGFAS Area Judges, judged the competition with winner Mary Knox claiming this beautiful trophy. Congratulations to Mary and what a wonderful way to start off the year.

The Club also takes this opportunity to thank both Karen and Ross for their expertise on the night.

Ballymena Floral Art group’s next meeting will be Monday, February 19 with Trainee Demonstrator Victoria Robertson entitled “Signs of the Season” at 7.30 pm Michelin Athletic Club.

Ballymena Floral Art Group welcomes anyone who would like to either be a member of the Club or come occasionally as a visitor to any of our monthly club meetings. Our programme is available on the website: www.Ballymenafloralart.
