Glens of Antrim Historical Society

THE NEXT meeting of the Glens of Antrim Historical Society will take place in the Parish Centre, Cushendall, on Friday, January 18 at 8.30 pm.

The subject of this month’s lecture is ‘The Poetry of Place’ and will be delivered by Frank Rogers.

It will consist of an illustrated talk, showing some of the most beautiful places in the Glens of Antrim and Ireland as a whole, and featuring well-loved poems by some of Ireland’s best known poets.

Among those featured will be the poems of John Hewitt, Moira O’Neill, Dusty Rhodes, William Allingham, John Irvine, Rosamund Praeger, WB Yeats and Alfred Lord Tennyson. Schooldays memories will be stirred and an enjoyable romp down memory’s lane guaranteed!
