REPRESENTATIVES from Mid and East Antrim Agewell Partnership, which helps older people in Ballymena, show their support for Age NI’s Spread the Warmth campaign at a recent meeting of the Chairs from nine Age Sector Networks across Northern Ireland.
Anne O’Reilly, Age NI Chief Executive said: “Many older people find the winter months very challenging in Northern Ireland. Over 250,000 people here worry about staying warm in winter and 191,000 older people say loneliness is a major problem.
“That’s why it’s so important to ensure that our older friends, relatives and neighbours are warm, well and connected during winter.
“Age NI is asking people to help Spread the Warmth by being neighbourly and looking out for older members of the community this winter. We would also encourage those in need of help to call our Age NI Advice service on freephone 0808 808 4545.’
