Sewerage issues in focus
Jenny Robinson, Consumer Council calls on local communities in the Ballymena area to help identify water and sewerage issues.
THE CONSUMER Council is calling on local communities in the Ballymena area to help identify ongoing water and sewerage issues.
Antoinette McKeown, Chief Executive of the Consumer Council explains “Currently, NI Water provides some of the highest levels of water and wastewater quality ever seen in Northern Ireland. Our research tells us that consumers are satisfied with the service they receive from NI Water and have a favourable opinion of the company.
“However we all recognise that sometimes things go wrong affecting the service consumers get. This looks at identifying areas where a number of consumers are experiencing issues with the water and wastewater services at their properties. Examples could be odour nuisance, low pressure, discolouration of water, interruptions to supply, leakage or out of sewer flooding.
“If you’ve been experiencing problems for some time or if there is an intermittent problem then something can be done to help.
“Firstly contact NI Water as it gives them an opportunity to put things right. However if you have not been satisfied with the response you have received or would like some independent advice please contact our dedicated Consumer Support team on 0800 121 6022 who will investigate further on your behalf.”
