ULSTER 10 CHAMPIONSHIP
The Ulster 10 miles time trial Championship took place at Woodgreen last Thursday evening.
Conditions were warm and dry but a little too windy to offer any realistic chance of record breaking. Nevertheless there were some excellent performances on the night.
Ballymena Road Club's only medallist was Louise Fullerton who recorded a personal best time of 24 minutes 53 seconds to earn the bronze in the women's Championship. This was the best time to record a PB and a medal was an appropriate reward.
Darrell Erwin from Ballymena won the hand cycling championship.
Ballymena Road Club was seventh in the team championship from the 16 qualifying teams.
The BRC team was: 9. Conor McAllister 20.50; 19. Leo McAllister 21.25; and 66. Chris Beattie 23.14.
Other Ballymena RC performances were: 72. James Burns 23.22; 74. Mark McCullough Bann Valley 23.30; 91. Trevor Reid 24.12 ; 96. Louise Fullerton 24.53; and 112. Elle Forrest 27.36. Elle was off her bike for over a minute after "pulling a wheel" at the start. Jim Burns came to her rescue and got her going again. Hopefully her recent run of bad luck will end soon.
DROMARA ROAD RACES
