BALLEE High School who have been involved in Rock Challenge for the past seven years have enjoyed more success in the performing arts competition for secondary schools, designed to drive home anti drug, anti alcohol and anti smoking messages.
This year's competition was held on Tuesday, April 1. Ballee High School won second place overall in an eight school final and also won two special awards for 'Best Soundtrack'- presented by Downtown Radio and 'Most Entertaining Performance'- presented by The Northern Ireland Health Development Policy Branch.

This year's performance took the form of an eight minute drama/dance production, performed live at the Waterfront Hall. The theme was 'Let's Dance', a celebration of music and dance throughout the years.

Lauren Young introduced the piece most professionally and explained the theme. "Thank you for the music, the songs I'm singing. Thanks for all the joy they're bringing, who can live without it? I ask in all honesty, what would life be? Without a song, or a dance, what are we?

"So I say, thank you for the music, for giving it to me, so let's play the music and dance."
