Cath Tuff is on a roots search for Brownlees and Anderson ancestors in the Ballymena area. Can you help?
Cath writes: I have been trying to trace my Grandparent Archibald Brownlee & Martha Ann Anderson. After some research I have found my grandfather's baptism records & found he had a sister Margaret Brownlee with the thanks of the Dean of Connor, The Very Rev John F A Bond of St Patrick's Church Broughshane

Through the baptism records I have found my grandfather's name had a different spelling. It was Brownlees.

His mother's name was Nancy but on the birth certificate it is Agnes. However, Nancy is a form of the same name.

Baptism records have it as Nancy but Agnes is on the certificate. They lived at Loughconnelly. I am told it is close to Aghacully Road, Broughshane Ballymena

I have found other Brownlees but don't know if they are related. They are William James born 10th may 1870 parents Robert & Sarah also Robert born 12th July 1872 same parents. Also Nancy McKelvey parents James & Mary Ann Brownlees

I don't know very much about my grandmother's family yet as I am still researching. She was born in the district of Ahoghill Ballymena. She was born 27th Sept 1881. Her parents were (father) David Anderson and (mother) Margaret Jane McGee. I know she had one brother & three sisters but I am not sure when they were born

My grandparents married on 8tTh Jan 1907 then moved to Scotland to the then village of Harthill, Lanarkshire where my grandfather was a miner he had lived there before they were married

My grandfather died in 1936. My gran lived until 1970. She was never really ill in her life until she had a stroke. She visited Ireland many a time. She would fly from Glasgow to Belfast so she had friends or family in Ballymena

If anyone knows of her or have any connection to the Anderson's or Brownlees please get in touch with me or if any one knows a church where I might get some records please let me know.

I am the last of my generation in my family. I have two cousins (my mother's nieces) so we would love to leave some thing of our family history to our children & grandchildren
Thank You Cath Tuff

Perhaps a link to Cath's previous request for help published in August would be useful as it gives some more details of her search: http://www.ballymenatimes.com/expats/Roots-search-Brownlee-and-Anderson.3149712.jp
