The Northern Ireland Young Artist of the Year 2016 Competition, with a first prize of £1000, has been launched in Ballymena. The competition, which is sponsored by Vision Express and organised by the Rotary Club of Ballymena, is open to all artists in NI aged 18 to 30 and is free to enter via Facebook.

Mid & east Antrim Council will be awarding a suitable candidate a community arts commission funded to a value of at least £500.

Competition Chairman, Raceview Mill Gallery owner, Roy McKeown says: “This is a great opportunity for young artists to not only win a substantial amount, but also to enhance their CV. We hope to help young people to develop their career.”
