WATCHING your child taking their first steps can be the most enjoyable time for parents, as this is the first big stepping stone in their development from baby to toddler.
Here are some great tips for helping your child's development, and get them up on their feet.

Encourage your child to stand up and strengthen the muscles in their legs and feet. Holding your child's hands will support them and build confidence while standing up.

Guide your child to the edge of height appropriate furniture where they can grip on, support themselves and cruise around the room.

Invest in toys that your child can use to aid walking, support themselves and push along, giving them better confidence to move each foot forward.

Try to make learning to walk fun and do not forget to praise your child when they are doing well.
