Mid & East Antrim Deputy Mayor Timothy Gaston has endured the pain of getting his legs waxed and raised over £1000 for a cancer charity.
The money raised will go towards Action Cancer, which is his chosen charity during his term of office.
He agreed to undergo the tortuous treatment on Saturday at the Fairhill Shopping Centre.
So far he has raised a fantastic £1160. He said: “We all know someone who has suffered from Cancer; a family member, friend or neighbour.
“Action Cancer needs continual support so they can do things like provide the Big Bus across Northern Ireland, in order to increase the number of early detections of Cancer.
“In Northern Ireland someone receives a cancer diagnosis every hour of every day, and it is estimated one in two of us will receive a cancer diagnosis in our lifetime. If you would like to support Action Cancer, you can either contact me directly or donate online by going to www.justgiving.com/Timothy-Gaston.”
