Free computer course for beginners
Do you have time between School runs or just want to keep up with your children/grandchildren?
Bann Maine West are working in partnership with Northern Regional College (NRC) to deliver an I.T. course at a convenient venue and time to suit e.g. morning courses for those between school runs or older people living in Ahoghill, Grange, Hillstown, Tullygarley, Portglenone, Cullybackey or Cloney.
The College are providing a tutor and access to computers out into the community to make learning accessible for everyone – even those living out in the “very rural” areas of Ballymena.
This course is not confined to these areas so if you live outside of the areas mentioned, contact Bann Maine West for more information. This course is for absolute beginners so don’t worry if you have never even switched on a computer before!
Bann Maine West (BMW) is one of 4 Community Clusters operating in Ballymena Borough. Ballymena Borough Council fund the clusters as part of its community development strategy and BMW has proven to be a tremendous success to date.
The areas in BMW are Cullybackey, Galgorm, Cloney, Tullygarley, Grange and Portglenone including Ahoghill and Galgorm. BMW aims to improve opportunities for the groups in these areas to access and share services and facilities at local level.
Current ongoing projects include monthly Lunch & Learn sessions for Older People, a youth training project and renewable energy project, amongst many more.
