When life gets you down ...
THE three Presbyterian congregations in Ballymena South are hosting a series of public meetings under the title, “When Life Gets you Down”.
Consultant Psychiatrist Dr Andrew Collins will be coming to the town to speak at the four special evening meetings which will be held during January and February.
Dr Collins is a well-known speaker who works part-time as a Consultant Psychiatrist in the field of Psychiatric Intensive Care. He spends the rest of his time in Christian Counselling, working from his home in Portadown and is a member of Killicomaine Evangelical Church. Rev Eddie Chestnutt, Minister of Harryville Presbyterian Congregation said: “We want to make sure people know they are really welcome to come along and bring family and friends to these meetings. The issues being addressed are issues that concern all of us either directly or through people close to us.”
The first meeting will be in Harryville Presbyterian Church Hall, on Wednesday, January 9, and will be on the subject of “Depression”.
This will be followed by one on ‘Stress’ at Ballee Presbyterian Church on Thursday, January 24, a meeting on ‘Grief’ in Harryville Presbyterian Church Hall on Wednesday, February 6; and a final meeting in Ballykeel Presbyterian Church on Thursday, February 21, which will be on the subject of ‘Suicide’.
All the meetings get underway at 8pm and everyone is welcome to attend any of all of them.
