LOCAL chef Julie Hawthorne has reached the final round of the all-Ireland ‘My Moy Park Recipe Competition’ and needs your vote.

She is now a step closer to claiming the coveted grand prize as her chicken dish, Irish Whiskey Chicken, now goes to public vote.

Moy Park, Northern Ireland’s largest food processing company, issued a challenge to all those with culinary know-how across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland to share the secret of their favourite chicken recipe, to be in with a chance of winning a weekend break for two in Neven Maguire’s ‘MacNean House’, in Cavan.

Paul Burch, Moy Park Accounts Director Ireland said, “Having received over 1000 entries of such a high standard it was incredibly difficult to shortlist the recipes.

However, the judging panel, which included Moy Park’s Executive Chef Aaron Dixon, noted that five recipes stood out from the rest, resulting in a shortlist of a wide variety of tasty dishes from Irish Whiskey Chicken, Marinated Chicken Kebabs with Lemon-Pepper Yoghurt Sauce and Vietnamese Sweet and Sour Chicken Soup to Creamy Chicken Pie and Moy Amazing Italian Chicken, demonstrating strong creativity and imagination.”

“All our finalists’ recipes are now up for public vote via Moy Park’s website, www.iloveirishchicken.com, where you will also find our full range of delicious ‘In the Kitchen’ recipes. It is really simple to vote for your local favourite and voters also receive a coupon for £1 off Moy Park Chicken Breast Fillets.”

Voters have until the February 20 to support their local talent and make sure they are crowned winner of the ‘My Moy Park Recipe Competition’.
