OLDER folk in Ballymena are being offered the chance to Move to the Music of the Ulster Orchestra with a special community scheme which includes free door-to-door transport and free tickets to a selection of concerts.
Move to the Music provides greater access to concerts for those aged 70 or over, who are living alone and who have never attended an Ulster Orchestra concert in Belfast.

There are six Waterfront Hall dates to choose from, offering a choice of som
e of the most popular Ulster Orchestra concerts of the year.

They include: Classical Charts – Romeo and Juliet (Friday 2 October 2009), Classical Charts – New World (Friday 20 November 2009), Broadway (Saturday 28 November 2009), Handel’s Messiah (Friday 11 December 2009), Film Night – James Bond (20 February 2010) and Mozart and Tchaikovsky (Friday 21 May 2010).

“We think it’s really important to reach people in the community who find it difficult to come along to a live concert. Orchestral concerts are such a wonderfully enriching experience, but we know it’s not always easy to travel into Belfast under your own steam.

“This scheme provides that opportunity. You can come to a concert without the expense or the hassle of difficult travel arrangements,” said David Byers, Chief Executive of the Ulster Orchestra.

The scheme is supported by JTI and the door-to-door pick-up service is provided in partnership with North Antrim Community Transport

For an application form to come to a concert, contact the Ulster Orchestra box office on 028 9023 9955 or go to www.ulsterorchestra.com.
