'NOTICES of motion' put by councillors to their colleagues at meetings in Ardeevin are now being 'clocked'.
A portable, primary-coloured, plastic digital timer was introduced at the February monthly meeting of the local authority to ensure that speakers don’t wax lyrical but deliver a motion in 10 minutes - or less.

First to be put on the ‘Countdown’ spot last Monday night was former schoolmaster, Cllr Robin Stirling who failed to be fazed by the primary school-like device, declaring as he got to his feet to read a motion - “Start the clock!”
