KELLS sheep breeder, James Barr, has attained double success for his Vallyview flock.
Mr Barr, who is the local Kerry Hill chairman, was personally congratulated for his latest wins by UK Kerry Hill Chairman, Gwilym Pugh, who travelled over to Northern Ireland recently from Wales.

Mr Barr received the Knockavoe Cup for the Irish Champion Kerry Hill Flock of the Year 2009 and was also awarded the WV Davis Bowl for the Best UK Flock of the Year (29 ewes and under).

Mr Pugh said: “Winning this award is both a tremendous privilege and a great honour for any Kerry Hill breeder.

“The WV Davis Bowl was first presented in 1936 and this is the first time it has been awarded to a Kerry Hill flock in Northern Ireland”.
