An Antrim bride-to-be has shed almost three stones in the run up to her wedding - and gained a new career in the process.

Organising a wedding is an exciting time for any bride to be, but for Paige Foster, it has changed her life by motivating her to join her local Slimming World group and losing 2 stone 10 pounds in just six months!

“My weight just kept creeping up, I was so happy and settled in my relationship, I just didn’t think about my diet,” Paige said.

She added: “I knew I was getting heavier and I became very reclusive and self conscious of my body.

“I didn’t want to go out and socialise as I would struggle to feel good in anything I would wear.”

At a routine doctors appointment, she was told that her weight was affecting her health and at just 23 had high blood pressure.

“I never had a problem with it before but I had been feeling so tired and drained that I knew it was what I was eating was contributing to it,” Paige said.

In February 2016, Paige joined her local Slimming World group in Greystone Primary.

“It was a daunting moment walking through those doors on the first night but I felt so relaxed and welcome. My consultant was amazing and the other members were always supportive and helpful,” Paige said.

She added: “It really is like we are a big family! The plan was so easy to follow and I could still enjoy foods I loved like curries, chips and pasta, and still lose weight. I knew this plan was for me.”

After just three months at group, she went to a recruitment event with the company and is now relaunching the very group where she lost her weight!

“My consultant was amazing and a total inspiration; I want my members to feel the same way,” Paige said.

She added: “I have lost 2 stone 10 pounds in weight, my blood pressure is now normal and I have gained confidence and a new lease of life.

“The plan has changed my life, I never feel deprived or hungry. I can eat what I want, when I want, in moderation or just by changing the way foods are cooked! I can’t wait to share my passion with every single person out there.”

Paige will be relaunching the Greystone Primary School group in Antrim from Wednesday, August 31.

The class runs every Wednesday at 5.30pm and 7.30pm.
