A wide variety of training courses to suit different interests, ages and abilities are on offer at Arches and on Tuesday, September 9, you will have the chance to find out more at a Courses Open Day.

Call into Arches Community Hall for a free cuppa and view their training facilities from 10am to 8pm.

Meet with the tutors, many of whom will be there from 6-8pm, and find out more information about the different courses, what they involve and the subjects covered.

Several new courses are being introduced including the creative Photo Patchwork Cushion (six week course) which will help you keep some of your treasured family memories immortalised on a patchwork cushion or bag.

An experienced tutor will provide a step-by-step guide in this workshop for which a sewing machine is ideal, but not essential, as these simple designs can be hand-stitched. Fabrics and materials can be supplied, just bring along some of your cherished pictures to this great new course.

Also new is a Windows 8 class. Just bring along your laptop and a skilled tutor will teach you the essentials on how to navigate this new system, the apps and personalise it to suit your needs.

In response to feedback from previous classes, iPad and Tablet Essentials classes have been separated due to the differences in the devices. ARCHES are also introducing an Advanced iPad course, for those who want to know more.

After a successful first year, ARCHES Art Class will once again be on offer and is scheduled for Thursday afternoons from 3-5pm in the Community Hall, with both new and past students welcome to attend.

The very successful ARCHES Junior Dance (Beginners and Improvers) Classes, for children of Primary School age, with many of the children returning year after year, is scheduled to run again on Wednesday afternoons, commencing September 10.

It is essential to register for these classes. Just contact Arches Office to enrol on 94478471 or E: info@randalstownarches.com

Following a popular Wine Appreciation evening, held during Arches Community Festival, a Wine Appreciation course is now on offer so if you want to know your Chablis from your Chianti, the classes will be held monthly on a Friday from 7.30-9.30pm.

If you go along to the Open Day you can sign up and register on the day to any of the courses by completing a simple enrolment form and paying a small deposit which secures your place; numbers are limited on some courses, so it is advisable to register early.
