'˜Black Saturday' in Ballymena

Around 70 Preceptories will be taking part in the '˜Last Saturday' parade hosted by the Royal Black Institution in Ballymena on Saturday (August 27).

Traditionally, the ‘Black’ pride themselves on a stylish turnout and you can expect a plethora of bowlers and white gloves as ‘Sir Knights’ from all over Co. Antrim march in Ballymena.

Police are advising the public to expect delays due to the parade which will leave the Showgrounds at 12.30pm and make its way towards the town centre. The parade route will include Wellington Street and Mill Street due to ongoing road works.

This will result in traffic diversions for a time. The return leg of the parade will start at 4.15pm from Ballee playing fields.
