Charities to benefit from Mayor's fundraising

Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor John Scott, will be fundraising for three charities in Northern Ireland throughout his year in office.

Cllr. Scott has chosen to support the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust, Lighthouse and Help for Heroes.

“Each of these charities has a special place in my heart and I fully admire and respect the work they do and the contributions they make to society,” Cllr. Scott said.

He added: “A variety of fundraising activities and events will be organised throughout my Mayoral term and I know the people of Antrim and Newtownabbey will be as generous as ever in their support.”

The Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust helps bereaved families in the repatriation of the bodies of loved ones who have died abroad.

Lighthouse is committed to the prevention of suicide and the provision of support services to bereaved families.

Help for Heroes offers support to those who have suffered life-changing injuries and illnesses whilst serving our country.
