DUP South Antrim MLA Trevor Clarke has hit out after the old mill in Crumlin was destroyed in fire.
“Whilst the building has been closed for many years it still holds sentimental value to the Crumlin community and had historical value, as it once was the town’s central point,” Mr Clarke said.
He added that the cause of the fire is still yet to be confirmed, but there is speculation it was purposely lit.
Mr Clarke said the PSNI are wanting to question three males who were seen running from the Mill after the fire broke out.
“I would therefore urge anyone with information to make contact with the PSNI and help with their investigations,” Mr Clarke said.
He added: “It is sad that these historical buildings are neglected and whilst it would be nice to see these buildings restored to their natural glory; bored youth gangs who seek entrance should understand the value of these buildings and look for other places to hang out.”
