Environment Minister Mark H Durkan has announced that DOE Planning has recommended approval for 23 small business units and 2,000 square metres of floor-space outside Crumlin.
The application is located on part of the former World War Two Air Force camp site associated with the Langford Lodge airfield.
The scheme provides opportunities to develop small businesses in the area which has a history of business and industrial uses.
Mr Durkan said: “This is a boost for Crumlin. This approval is to be welcomed as it regenerates a former industrial site which was previously used for meat processing. It will also bring construction jobs in the short term.
“Increasing the availability of small business units should encourage more businesses in to the area. Decisions like this all contribute towards my vision for a better environment and a stronger economy.”
DOE Planning consulted with Antrim Borough Council on February 27, who raised no objections to the proposal.
There was one letter of objection and one letter of representation received to the application.
