The youngest Councillor elected to the new Antrim and Newtownabbey Council has thanked the electorate.
Matthew Magill, who is currently completing a Law degree at Queen’s University, was elected to serve in the Airport Electoral Area
“I am greatly indebted to everyone who supported me and am so humbled by the endorsement I received, having topped the unionist poll,” Michael said.
He added: “I had the privilege to meet and speak with many of the people whilst canvassing in the weeks leading up to the election and I am looking forward to working for them all in the days that lie ahead.
“The new super council, with its increased powers and responsibilities will, no doubt, change the face of local government. My aim during the council term is to make good on the promises which I have given to the electorate during the campaign and tackle the issues that matter on a local level. I look forward to representing the interests of the people who elected me whilst endeavouring to make a positive impact on the area.”
