Three times limit driver was a '˜danger to all other road users'

A Barrister claimed his client 'stupidly' agreed to go to a shop at 1.45am and was caught driving with excess alcohol.

Marsin Zielinski (39), of Lisnevenagh Road, Ballymena, had the offence detected in Ballymena on September 29.

Police saw him driving erratically and swerving between lanes and when they stopped him he had an alcohol/breath reading of 108 with the legal limit being 35.

Barrister Michael Smith said the defendant had been drinking with friends and foolishly agreed to drive to a shop.

He was banned from driving for 18 months and fined £350. District Judge Chris Holmes told him he was three times the limit and not just a danger to himself but to anybody else around him.
