Invest Northern Ireland promoted 960 new jobs in the new Antrim and Newtownabbey super council area during 2013/14, representing an increase of 233 per cent on the previous year.
End of year results from Invest NI show significant increases across the key areas of offers, assistance and investment. In 2013/14, offers increased by 11 per cent, assistance by 312 per cent and investment by 443 per cent.
Moira Loughran, Invest NI’s Eastern Regional Manager, said: “There’s been a strong performance in the key areas of offers to companies, assistance and investment over the past year which is providing substantial benefits to the local economy and positions it for further growth over the next 12 months.
“Encouragingly, the year saw significant investments being announced by international manufacturing company Schrader and also in professional services by the likes of Capita Managed IT Services.”
