Ball starts rolling for the business awards

The awards are organised annually by Ballymena Borough Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Announcing the sponsorship deal, Alan Stewart, Chamber President said: “We’ve seen growth in interest, attendance and applications for the awards every year since we started, with last year almost 500 people attending the Gala evening. It’s always great to see the mix of businesses at the awards, representing sectors from retail to manufacturing to services. And it allows Ballymena to showcase the best businesses and practices to outside bodies perhaps looking to locate new businesses.”

The Mayor of Mid and East Antrim Borough, Councillor Billy Ashe, said: “Council recognises that growing the local economy is a major priority across not only Ballymena but also the wider Borough. It is therefore very important to support our local businesses in as many ways as possible, with our sponsorship of the Business Excellence Awards in Ballymena being a very good, practical example of this approach.”

Chris Wales, who has been involved in the organisation of the awards for many years added: “Tullyglass House Hotelwill again be hosting the gala evening. The date for this year’s award ceremony is Thursday, October 20.”
