The man charged with keeping what will soon be Ballymena’s largest manufacturing facility on the ‘Wright’ road to continued success has been given a major business honour.

Mark Nodder, CEO of Wrightbus, received the award for Large Company Director of the Year, sponsored by First Trust Bank, at the 2016 IoD Northern Ireland First Trust Bank Director of the Year Awards.

The Awards highlighted the success of directors from across the private, third and public sectors who have been recognised for setting exceptional standards of leadership and demonstrating good corporate governance.

The 10 category winners, along with the winner of the IoD Young Enterprise Alumni Award, were announced at a lunch ceremony in Belfast’s Merchant Hotel on Friday 15th April hosted by local actor and comedian Tim McGarry.

Each local winner now has the chance to be shortlisted for the UK Director of the Year Awards, which take place in London later this year.

Commenting on Mark’s success, the judges said:

“Mark has displayed consistent and strong leadership, resulting in impressive business results, employment growth and business development in UK and export markets. He has fostered a strong culture of technological innovation together with a commitment to deliver value and quality.”

The awards were judged by a panel made up of leading business representatives.
