Specsavers in Antrim has selected Downtown Radio and Cool FM’s Cash for Kids NI as its charity for 2016.

For the next 12 months the store team will be ramping up its fundraising efforts to support the charity’s work.

Store director, Davin Quinn, said: “Cash for Kids NI will be our fourth annual charity. Following our very successful campaign for Marie Curie last year when we raised over £2000, we are aiming to double that in 2016 to help as many disadvantaged children in Northern Ireland as possible.

“We are really looking forward to working with the team at Cash For Kids NI and we will not only fully support the many national fundraising activities but will also create some of our own ‘Antrim’ events as well.”

Cash for Kids is a registered charity whose mission is to raise money for the thousands of disadvantaged children in Northern Ireland who right now are relying on their support. Everything raised will stay here to help bring hope, healing and happiness to children in our community.

Thérèse Maguire, Charity Manager, said: “We are delighted to be the nominated charity of Specsavers Antrim and can’t wait to work with the team on some exciting events throughout the year.

“Cash for Kids is a local children’s charity and everything raised will stay in Northern Ireland to support disadvantaged children here.

“We receive applications from families, community groups and other children’s charities providing services directly to kids – some examples from the local area include the Family Caring Centre in Rathenraw and The Donkey Sanctuary Assisted Therapy Centre”.
