Fancy doing a bit of the old Bear Grylls style survival training?

Kells and Connor Youth have secured funding to run a summer camp for young men in Mid & East Antrim.

This summer camp, funded by the office of the first and deputy first minister, will take place from the 17th-21st August 2015 in Castlerock.

During this week, attendees will learn a range of survival skills and participate in workshops relating to mental health.

By the end of the camp, attendees will gain an OCN qualification in Bushcraft Survival.

Kells & Connor Youth are recruiting 8 Protestants, 8 Catholics and 4 Ethnic Minorities. The camp is open to young men aged between 14-16 years old. Preference will be given to applicants from Ballymena East Cluster Area (Broughshane, Glenwherry, Glenravel, Kells & Slemish).

Participants will be asked to contribute £20 towards the camp. This will cover transport to and from Castlerock, all activities, food, equipment and a celebration evening.

In addition, Kells & Connor Youth are recruiting two youth leaders to help deliver the project.

Both leaders will be paid £7.53 per hour. Expressions of interest from those who are not in education, training or employment are particularly welcomed.
