Local MLA Paul Frew has thanked Council for agreeing to act on concerns raised by Braid Angling Club over new barriers erected last year to enhance safety at disabled access points at the river bank.

According to him, Mid & East Antrim Borough Council have now agreed to alter the barriers to allow disabled anglers to both safely cast in and net fish caught.

“This work will allow disabled anglers full access to fish in the fishing bays and is a victory for commonsense,” said the DUP Assemblyman.
