Caddy Road incident treated as murder

Police are treating an incident in which a man in his 60s died at Caddy Road between Ballymena and Randalstown as murder.

A woman in her 50s was also assaulted and taken to hospital The incident involved a number of vehicles.

Detective Chief Inspector Gareth Talbot said: “The matter was reported to police shortly after midnight on Thursday 8 January. The woman’s injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

“At this time investigations are at an early stage but I am treating this as murder. I appeal to anyone who noticed any suspicious vehicles or activity in the Caddy Road area at around midnight to contact CID at Ballymena Police Station on the non emergency number 101.
