Detectives in Ballymena are appealing for information following an attempted armed robbery that occurred at a shop in the Larne Road area on the evening of Tuesday 6 October.

Just after 7.40pm, a masked man armed with a knife entered a convenience store and demanded money from the till. One of the staff members threw water over him and he made off empty handed.

The man was dressed in a navy hooded top, navy tracksuit bottoms and white trainers.

Chief Inspector Ball said: “I would ask anyone with any information about this incident to contact detectives in Ballymena Police Station on the non emergency number 101. Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
