Crosskennan Lane Animal Sanctuary has received a £5,000 donation from Danske Bank’s Employees’ Charity Group.

The Employees’ Charity Group was established in 1991 by staff in Danske Bank, previously Northern Bank, to support charities and good causes throughout Northern Ireland.

The group, which is funded by monthly ‘Give As You Earn’ contributions from staff, has donated £1 million to over 400 local charities since it was founded in 1991.

Antrim-based animal sanctuary, Crosskennan Lane helps all kinds of animals, mainly horses and ponies, but also dogs, cats, rabbits and chickens.

Volunteer Carmel Walsh accepted the donation on behalf of the charity and said: “The money provided through Danske Bank’s Employees’ Charity Group has been a tremendous help.

“Thanks to this donation we have been able to carry out work on our paths and entrance enabling better access for people with disabilities.”

Kevin Kingston, Chief Executive at Danske Bank, said: “I am delighted and extremely proud of Danske Bank staff and pensioners who have very generously donated £1 million to over 400 charities since 1991.

“We’re pleased that local charities and worthy causes right across Northern Ireland have benefitted and members look forward to supporting many more organisations in the future.”
