As a result of enquiries into an alleged ‘shooting incident’ in Tobar Park, Cullybackey on April 15, police have confirmed that the property was in fact attacked by fireworks.

DCI James Mullen said: “At around 12.25am on April 15 police received a report that possible gunshots had been heard in the area of Tobar Park.

“Officers have now been able to establish that the sounds were caused by fireworks thrown at a house in the area and not gunshots as reported.

“I would appeal to the community for information relating to this incident. The investigation team can be reached in Ballymena by calling the non-emergency number 101 or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their name they can do so via the Crimestoppers charity by calling 0800 555 111.”
