Staff and pupils from Dunclug College have been thanked for their generous donation of £1000 towards the Women’s Aid ‘Make It Better’ Appeal.

Year 10 pupils were asked to research a charity of their choice which enhances the local community and present their findings back to the class.

After working closely alongside Women’s Aid previously, Dunclug College learnt how much Domestic Violence impacts the lives of so many Women and Children in the local area and therefore wanted to raise awareness on the support Women’s Aid can offer’.

Ruth Owen, Fundraising Co-ordinator with Women’s Aid said: “We would like to thank Dunclug College for their support in highlighting these important messages to pupils and staff.

“The funds donated will help to provide emotional and practical support to children and young people whose education has been affected by domestic violence.

“Anyone experiencing domestic violence can also access support by calling the 24hr Domestic & Sexual Violence Helpline on 0808 802 1414.”
