When it comes to your child taking the first steps in his or her education, Dunclug Nursery School combines a successful history with a vibrant present and future.

Since opening its doors in 1975, the purpose -built Doury Road site has played an important role in the Ballymena area’s pre-school education sector.

Dunclug Nursery currently provides spaces for 78 children, in one full-time and two part-time classes.

The complex includes a well resourced indoor learning environment that develops skills, builds on children’s previous experiences and challenges their thinking

Outdoor provision includes a play park, sand and water play, garden and large construction areas to promote physical and social development

A caring and highly qualified staff team, led by new Principal, Mrs Pamela Muir, ensure that the children feel safe, cared for and inspired and that parents are valued as partners in their child’s education.

The Nursery curriculum meets children’s physical, social and emotional needs. It challenges and stimulates them and is broad and balanced to allow them to act independently and to make choices.

Children are given opportunities to work alone or in groups, to develop their concentration and skills such as taking turns and sharing.

The nursery has developed excellent links with local primary schools and community groups and continues to build on these foundations.

Dunclug Nursery’s open day takes place on Wednesday, November 26, from 3-6pm when would-be pupils and their parents and carers will be able to view the nursery’s facilities and speak with staff.
