She added that 64% of students achieved 5 or more GCSEs at A*-C, while 24 students achieved seven or more GCSEs at A*-C.

Sixteen students achieved at least eight GCSEs at these grades, while four achieved nine and two further students achieved ten.

In Year 11 eight pupils achieved Grade C or higher in GCSE Science (Single Award) leaving them free to focus on GCSE Additional Science in Year 12.

She added: “In an excellent year for our Modern Languages Department, 100% of the grades achieved in French and Polish were at A*-C.

“ In addition, we congratulate the three Sixth Form students who successfully completed both AS and A2 level Polish in one year.

“In fact, in nine subjects, there was a pass rate at A*-C of 75% and above, with four of those subjects achieving over 85% and three of them – English Literature, French, and Polish – achieving a 100% pass rate.

“The great success of our students at A Level continues.

“In eight of the ‘A’ Level courses taken by our students, they achieved a 100% success rate at Grades A*-C. At ‘A’ Level, 88% achieved A*-A in Art & Design, with five students achieving at the recently introduced A* grade.”
