Festive market and hot food village in Ballymena

Ballymena’s very own local Christmas Food and Craft Market takes place this weekend (November 27-29).

Now in its second year the market is striving to be bigger and better.

The venue has changed too as Ballymena Town Centre Development (BTCD) iwill host an ‘indoor’ craft market in the new Ballymena Business Centre on Church Street, along with the present entrepreneurs located on their ground floor.

In addition. there will be a dedicated space for a hot Food village on Bryan Street.

Supported by the European Union’s INTERREG IVA Programme, managed by the Special EU Programmes Body and delivered by the North East Partnership and with support from Ballymena Borough Council, the Market will be opened on Thursday, November 27, at 11am by the Mayor, and will run from 11am until 8pm both on Thursday and on Friday, November 28 and will run from 10am-4pm on Saturday, November 29.

All the family is invited to come along and soak up the festive atmosphere and to browse around the many traders, full of treats and delights for Christmas, ranging from breads, cakes and cupcakes to homemade Christmas crafts and presents.

To add to the festive atmosphere there will be live music every day and there will be tribute characters based on the fabulous film Frozen at Bryan Street for one night only on Thursday, November 27, from 6-8pm featuring a themed car and sleigh and a chance to get a Frozen makeover.

On Saturday, November 29, there will be face painters, balloon modellers and Christmas Character entertainment for children from 10am-2pm.
