Ballykeel 1 housing estate is blooming thanks to a donation by Power NI, Northern Ireland’s leading energy supplier.

The Ballykeel 1 Moving Forward Community Group received £250 to purchase four large flower boxes filled with bright vivacious, colourful flowers for the housing estate as part of Power NI’s “Helping Hands” staff sponsorship scheme.

The group, which aims to improve the housing estate to make it a better place to live in, was nominated by a local Power NI employee, Roy McPeake.

Commenting on the donation, Roy said: “I’m grateful to Power NI for donating money for the beautiful flower boxes to help brighten up and to improve the estate. It has really added to the community”.

Nathan Gilmore, one of the Ballykeel 1 members also commented: “The donation from Power NI has helped to create a pleasant, brighter environment for all the residents in the local community and we are very thankful to the company for helping us.”
