Arthritis Care Northern Ireland is offering free Pain Management Workshops in Ballymena commencing in January 2014.
Challenging Pain is for anyone over the age of 18 whose life is affected by chronic pain.
Challenging Pain workshops are aimed at people with chronic pain and therefore they are of value to people who have a wide range of conditions.
The courses are delivered by highly trained volunteers, all of whom are living with pain.
The course is comprised of 2 three hour sessions over two weeks.
The workshop provides a variety of self-management techniques for pain management including: relaxation, breathing techniques, communication skills, the benefits of exercise and how to combat negativity.
The next Challenging Pain courses in your area will be held in the Conference Room 3, Training Suite, Braidvalley Hospital Site, Ballymena. We have organised two courses:- the first will run on Wednesday, January 29 and Wednesday, February 5 and the second one will take place on Friday, January 31 and Friday, February 7. Both courses will start at 1.30pm and finish at 4.30pm.
To secure your FREE place on the course contact Yvonne on 028 9078 2940 or Yvonnek@arthritiscare.org.uk.

The Challenging Pain Course changed the life of one past participant who said: “I have a more positive outlook now to living with pain and feel I can cope much better. I have also learned not to be so hard on myself and that it is okay to take things easy at times and to enjoy life!”
