A new free and impartial government guidance service to help people understand their pension options is now available locally via Mid & East Antrim Citizens’ Advice.

New pension reforms came into effect on April 6 which gave people over 55 the opportunity to decide what they do with their defined contribution pension pot.

Citizens’ Advice District Manager, Michele Campbell, says: “Good guidance is a crucial step towards a financially stable retirement. We have a strong history of helping people across Northern Ireland. We already support people with many of the issues affecting retirement so we’re pleased to be providing

pension guidance through the Pension Wise service.”

Pension Wise is designed to help people make the most of new pension freedoms and is targeted at those who are 55 or over, and have a defined contribution pension.

Mid & East Antrim Citizens Advice has Pension Wise Guidance Specialists available for face to face appointments across their three offices based in Larne, Carrickfergus and Ballymena.

To find out if you are eligible for guidance, or to book a face to face appointment drop in to your local Citizens Advice at 4 Wellington Court, Ballymena or telephone 25655970.

The Larne office can be contacted on 28260379 and Carrick office on 93351808.
