Three local projects have won a total of £28,257 from the Big Lottery Fund’s ‘Awards for All‘.

Ballymena Nursery School, which provides care and education for preschool children, has been awarded £10,000 for new play equipment, while £10,000 also went to Ballee & Harryville Community Enterprise Group to provide four day trips for their older members, as well as tea parties and other larger events to build up community relationships and reduce isolation in Ballymena South.

Buick Memorial Primary School in Cullybackey was awarded £8,257 to buy 25 iPads for their Silver Surfers project to help pupils connect and share their IT knowledge and skills with the wider community, especially older people.

Welcoming the local grant allocations, MLA Robin Swann encouraged other groups to apply.
