Ballymena Mayor Cllr Audrey Wales has extended congratulations to individuals, businesses and groups in the borough on achievements attained during the past month.

At Council’s August monthly meeting, she commended -

The announcement of a £170million expansion at Moy Park leading to 628 new jobs across its three sites including Ballymena.

Appointments by Wright Group of Mark Nodder, Mark Johnston and Steven Francey within the Ballymena based company’s executive team.

Ahoghill business Quad X on being named the regional winner of the innovative export programme Grow Global by the NorthEast Economic Development Forum.

Milk Cup Chairman Victor Leonard, Jim Sandford and Ballymena Council’s Mark Wilson and his team at the showgrounds “for their tremendous hard work and dedication” in hosting and organising the Finals Night in Ballymena which attracted 4098 spectators.

Local bowler Barbara Cameron and All Saints boxer Steven Donnelly on their double bronze success at the Commonwealth Games.

The announcement by Education Minister John O’Dowd of a £420,000 minor works investment in Carnaghts Primary School.

Denver McGavock of Broughshane on his recent graduation from the pilot Cloud Technology Academy and NRC student Dean Boyle on being awarded the Concorde Cup for Engineering.

Marketing student Michael Lewis on being awarded the overall winner of the 2014 Ulster Business School Placement Competition, receiving his prize for his contribution to innovation and excellence during his placement with Warner Bros London.
