The man found dumped in a wheelie bin in the Sentry Hill area of Ballymena last evening (Tuesday) is understood to have a broken arm, leg and various other injuries.
The victim was discovered by a man who was out walking his dog.
It is not clear where the attack took place and local MLA Paul Frew said he had been told by police that the victim had been brought to Sentry Hill after an initial assault.
The victim was discovered in the bin at the bottom of a nettle covered slope. Some reports would indicate that there had been an attempt to tape the lid of the bin. Other accounts say the bin was on its side and was wedged under a tree so it couldn’t be opened.
It is understood that the victim was absolutely drenched in sweat and appeared to be very dehydrated.
Police have stated that a man was taken to hospital by ambulance where he is now said to be stable.
