Woman in 80s conned during distraction burglary at Clough

Detectives in Ballymena are appealing for information after a report of a heartless distraction burglary at residential premises in the Coronation Park, Clough area on Thursday afternoon (June 12)

Sometime between 2:30pm and 3pm, it was reported that an unknown male approached a house in the area. A female in her 80’s is believed to have been asked if she lost any money. As the female checked, it is believed that the male entered the house and it is believed that a sum of money was taken. It is not known which direction the male made off following the incident.

=The male is described as being in his 50’s, 6” tall with a stocky build. The male is believed to have been wearing a hi-viz jacket and a baseball cap. Enquiries are continuing.

=Detectives would ask anyone who may have noticed any suspicious vehicles or persons in the area to contact them at Ballymena on the non emergency number 101.
