Ahoghill Traders say ‘thank-you’
AHOGHILL Traders’ Association have paid tribute to the many local volunteers, businesses and organisations for their continued generous support of the ongoing environmental programme in the village and the part they have played in its awards success.
Ahoghill has undergone an environmental transformation over recent years and 2012 saw further success as the village won its category in Ulster in Bloom and achieved a Gold Award in the prestigious Britain in Bloom competition.
At a ‘Thank-You’ Evening held last Wednesday by the Association feedback from the 2012 competition was given as well as an outline of the further environmental improvements planned for 2013. Those who attended heard that in the 2012 Judges’ Report they commented on a range of features including describing the involvement of local businesses as ‘excellent’ and the partnership with Ballymena Borough Council as ‘exceptional’.
Speaking afterwards, a spokesperson for the Association said: “It has been confirmed that Ahoghill has reached the final of this year’s Britain in Bloom competition in the Small Town category and it is hoped to take on board some of the judges’ very helpful recommendations.”
